PORTAL SETTINGS: 

  • Enable Employee Skills and Training Course Viewing.

  • User defined field to store Resource Region (HR Resource Master). 

    • This setting is only if you wish to add a Region to your filter in Manage Training. 



NOTE: Turning on Training for your users is part of Employee Self Service, however Training Admins (who set-up career paths and assign training and skills from the portal) is separate included in the Office Tools bundle. This documentation is therefore split into two parts. The first part explains how to assign a user to Training/Education or Skills in Viewpoint and how that shows up in the portal. The second part shows you how to set-up a Training Admin and assign Career Paths.

PART 1: ASSIGNING A USER TO TRAINING/EDUCATION OR SKILLS:

Your skills and training can all be maintained in viewpoint in the HR Resource Master by adding to the Skills and Training/Education Tabs.

Your users will see all training listed on their HR Resource Master in the portal under Employee Tools, Users can see all details of their training and export to an Excel sheet. Any attachments on the training or skills will be viewable from the portal, indicated by a paperclip next to the “View Detail” button.

SETTING UP A TRAINING ADMIN:

Training Admins are assigned in Admin, Manage Approvers.

Manage Training:

A Training Admin has access to Manage Training (found in Office Tools, Manage Training).

On this page the Training Admin can:

1) View all user’s current training

2) Edit current training: When editing a user’s current training it automatically updates the HR Resource Master for that employee.

3) Add new Training and Skills to each user: Here you can assign training or skills to an employee, just as you would have in Viewpoint’s HR Resource Master.

4) Export current view to Excel

5) Create Career Paths

CAREER PATH MANAGEMENT:

Each Career Path has a sequence of positions, one leading to the other. The positions are pulling from your HR Position Codes, along with the detail and requirements for that position.

A user can then select “My Career Path on their training page to see the required Skills and Training for their current position and their next position.

Current Position is based on their position code listed in the Applicant Position Tab in the HR Resource Master

If a user’s position is on multiple career paths, the user will be able to select from the dropdown to see their options.
