Benefits Checklist

This checklist is meant to help you review areas of your Benefits set-up you may have missed

IN VISTA:

HR BENEFIT CODE:

  • Assign a Benefit Type to each benefit code

    • Benefit Types dropdown can be edited in VA Custom Field Combo Boxes, Benefit Types

  • Be sure all your Benefit Codes have at least one deduction code and each deduction code had a frequency code and an option

    • If you want to show the Employer Cost in the portal you will need to have Liabilities set-up for each Deduction code.

  • Each Benefit Code must be selected with “Update PR”

HR BENEFIT GROUPS:

  • You need to have created at least one Benefit Group and assign your benefits in this Benefit Group.

    • You will assign who is assigned to each benefit group in the portal

    • A user will be able to be assigned to multiple benefit groups.

HR RESOUCE BENEFITS:

  • If you would like your employees to see their current benefits make sure that they are active and have a Deduction code with:

    • An Option

    • Frequency code

    • Ready Y/N must be checked

  • If you want to show the employee’s dependents you will need to make sure that each dependent has their own line on that benefit code (the dependent sequence will tell you if that is the employee or their dependent).

IN THE PORTAL:

MANAGE BENEFITS ASSIGNMENTS:

  • Have you assigned all your users to Benefit Groups? If they are not assigned they will not see their current elections or be seen in the Benefits dashboard.

PORTAL SETTINGS:

  • Be sure that you have reviewed the setting “Input Settings Per Benefit Type” so that each Benefit Type (and their associated Benefit Codes) appears the way you want them to in the portal.
